The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is inviting residents of Eagle Mountain, Saratoga Springs, and surrounding communities to participate in a public hearing regarding the upcoming Pioneer Crossing Flex Lanes project. This initiative aims to alleviate traffic congestion during peak hours by introducing two additional travel lanes in the peak direction, effectively enhancing the east-west corridor between Redwood Road and Mountain View Corridor.
Project Overview
The Pioneer Crossing Flex Lanes project is designed to improve traffic flow by implementing reversible lanes that adjust according to peak travel times. This approach mirrors successful implementations on roads like 5400 South in Salt Lake County. The project also includes re-striping Pioneer Crossing from Redwood Road to Mountain View Corridor to provide an additional travel lane in each direction throughout the day. Most of the work is expected to be completed within the existing state right of way. Construction is anticipated to commence as early as 2025 or 2026
Public Hearing Details
UDOT is committed to engaging the community and gathering input to ensure the project’s success. Residents are encouraged to attend the public hearing to learn more about the project, ask questions, and provide feedback.
- Date: April 9, 2025
- Time: 5-7 PM
- Location: Snow Springs Elementary (850 S 1700 W, Lehi Utah)
For those unable to attend in person, UDOT will provide options to submit comments and questions online. Details on how to participate virtually will be available on UDOT’s official website.
Community Impact
The implementation of flex lanes on Pioneer Crossing is expected to significantly reduce travel times and improve safety for commuters traveling between Eagle Mountain, Saratoga Springs, and adjacent areas. By optimizing the existing roadway infrastructure, UDOT aims to accommodate the region’s rapid growth and enhance the overall commuting experience for residents.
Stay Informed
Residents are encouraged to stay informed about the project’s progress and upcoming public involvement opportunities by visiting UDOT’s official website and subscribing to project updates. Active community participation is vital to the project’s success and ensures that the improvements meet the needs of all stakeholders.
