Happy St. Patrick’s day. Here is the latest (and initial) issue of the Social Bee. This is the new “What’s up”, “Happenings”, “In The Know” column for the Cedar Valley Sentinel. Bonnie Castellanos will write this column, so if you have things you want to be added, or highlighted in the Social Bee, send them her way at: socialbee@cedarvalleysentinel.com.
Helloooo, busy bees!
I am so excited to bring you the buzzzzzz from around town. Spring is near (I hope anyways) and the town has a lot coming up!
Let’s jump right into it, shall we!
Who doesn’t love a spring pop-up boutique Overland is hosting their annual Spring Boutique on 24 March from 5-8:30 PM and March 25th from 9 AM- 3 PM I went last year, and let me tell you, there is so much to check out. You name it, it’s probably their clothing, jewelry, crafts, and we cannot forget the FOOD TRUCKS! I’m a total sucker for food trucks, so that alone is worth it to me!
Get in the spirit of giving and helping by joining in on the Blood Drive being held at the EM Senior Center on March 31st from 9 AM- 3 PM. They encourage you to set up an appointment:

I don’t know about you, but Spring cleaning is the kick-off to spring for me it’s like a fresh new start. However, it can be overwhelming at times and fill UP my trash can. The city will be providing dumpsters for our community to use starting April 20th 4 PM- 8PM Then April 21st- 24th from 8AM-8 PM with a shredding truck available on April 22nd from 10 AM- 12 PM. That shredding truck is a lifesaver! There will be volunteers guiding you through the process and if prohibited items need to be dumped at the Intermountain Regional Landfill in Fairfield. There will be a free pass provided to the dump but please be aware that certain items carry a cost to dump.
Lastly, and I know this is a BIG favorite around here, is the Eagle Mountain Easter Egg hunt! I know my kids love going, and it’s so awesome that our city puts this on for us! So mark your calendar! Get there early. The eggs go so incredibly fast! This will be held at Cory B Wride Park on April 1st at 10 AM SHARP! As I said, get there early last year. I think it lasted MAYBE 5 min before all the eggs were picked up! There will be a 13-17 year old section this year! Make sure your child is in the correct area there are signs out in each section and there is a color-coded map that shows where each age group will be.
I also would love to be able to give you guys a list of spring and/or summer camps that are local for our kiddos! So far, I have only seen a couple but would love to compile and give you guys a list of things to keep our little worker bees busy. If you are aware of any camps/activities becoming available please send me a message at socialbee@cedarvalleysentinel.com so I can get this list out to you all.
