On September 9, Camp Floyd State Park is hosting Camp Floyd Days, commemorating the establishment of Camp Floyd in Fairfield. Visitors can immerse themselves in the camp life of the 1858-1861 era with exhibits, demonstrations, and visits to soldier graves. Children can participate in military drills with toy muskets and period uniforms, while re-enactors recreate civilian and military camps, offering period games and showcasing artifacts from the past. The historic Stagecoach Inn, operational from 1858 to 1947, is open for tours. On the same night, a Star Party in partnership with the Utah Valley Astronomy Club offers a chance to view celestial wonders through telescopes at Camp Floyd Cemetery. Then, on September 23, a Fairfield Historical Sites Driving Tour explores early Camp Floyd, Fairfield, sheep, and mining history, requiring reservations and a high clearance vehicle to visit key sites like the train station and mining smelter. Admission fees apply for this informative 1-1.5-hour tour.

Camp Floyd State Park is hosting Camp Floyd Days on the anniversary weekend of Camp Floyd being established in Fairfield. The event will allow visitors to experience camp life through exhibits and demonstrations. Visit the graves of soldiers who died in the service of our country. Have your children learn military drills with a toy musket and wear a period uniform. Visit the camps of civilian and military re-enactors and play period games. See artifacts from Camp Floyd from the time it was occupied (1858-1861) in our museum and tour the historic Stagecoach Inn which was in operation from 1858 to 1947. Come on out and join us for this family-friendly event.
The events will be conducted 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Food will be available for purchase.
Museum entrance fees of $5 per person or $15 per family (immediate family only) apply.

September 23 Fairfield Historical Sites Driving Tour
Come and join Camp Floyd State Park staff at 10:00 AM for a driving tour of the Fairfield train station site, sheep shearing site, and Manning Canyon Mining Smelter site to learn about the early Camp Floyd, Fairfield, sheep, and mining history of the area. Admission fees are $10 per person and reservations are required. A high-clearance vehicle is necessary for the tour as we will be driving on dirt roads. The tour will last approximately 1-1.5 hours.
