Recently the Utah County Sheriff’s office released a press release about an individual that was traveling at 115 in a posted 55 zone. The event occurred on 9/20/2022 at 4:38 am. The individual was traveling on Cory B Wride Memorial Highway heading towards Cedar Fort.
The Utah County Sheriff’s Office posted the following on their Facebook Page. “115 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. A 43 year old man was stopped for going 60 (yes SIXTY) MPH over the speed limit on SR-73 in Eagle Mountain at 4:38 AM this morning. If you crash at that speed you will die. Plain and simple! Don’t become a deadly statistic!” They included the following images with their post.

How rampant is speeding in Eagle Mountain? If you follow the Facebook pages of several of the community groups, you notice that it is a common subject. But another common subject is complaining about people going the speed limit in the left lane, and not allowing others to break the speed limit.
