On May 2nd, 2022 Odin Ratliff and Hunter Jackson were playing in one of the corals with their trucks at the Cedar Valley Stables in Eagle Mountain when Kent Cody Barlow whose toxicology test showed at that time had methamphetamine and amphetamine in his system, lost control of his vehicle and slammed into the coral killing both boys.
The court has had several hearings as well as several motions filed by the defense since the tragic event in Eagle Mountain. The court timeline will be included below. By order of the court on January 10, 2024, there is now a motion hearing set for January 25, 2024, and the preliminary hearing is to go forward. The Jury trial date is still set for September 16-27, 2024
