On January 7, 2026, the Cedar Valley Sentinel published an article titled Tiffany Walden Speaks on Fiduciary Duty at Council Meeting… (Original Title of article was changed). The article focused on Tiffany Walden’s remarks made during the public comment portion of the January 6 Eagle Mountain City Council meeting.
Following publication, the Sentinel received a formal legal letter dated January 13, 2026, from attorney Tyler S. LaMarr of Miller Harrison LLC, on behalf of Tiffany Walden. The letter requested corrections and a retraction of specific statements in the original article.
Key Clarifications
The original article included two significant inaccuracies that we now correct:
- Board Membership: The article stated that Tiffany Walden is a current board member of the Eagle Mountain Master Association. This is incorrect. Ms. Walden does not serve on the board, and we have revised the article to reflect that fact.
- Legal Status: The article implied that Tiffany Walden is a named party in the lawsuit filed by Pioneer Addition and Autumn Ridge HOAs. This is also incorrect. Ms. Walden is not named in the lawsuit and is not a defendant.
In addition, we have clarified language describing her role as a registered agent for Monte Vista Ranch, L.C. A registered agent is a state-mandated administrative role and does not imply decision-making authority or control over the business entity.
Our Response and Action Taken
In good faith, and in recognition of the need for factual accuracy in public reporting, the Cedar Valley Sentinel promptly reviewed and corrected the article.
Editorial Commitment
We acknowledge the concerns raised and take seriously the responsibility of reporting factually and fairly. The revised article now accurately reflects the public record and legal status of the parties involved. While we continue to cover the ongoing litigation involving the Eagle Mountain Master Association and broader governance issues in the city, we have removed any language that misrepresented Ms. Walden’s role.
We will also continue to report on any future public comments made by Tiffany Walden and other individuals involved in local civic matters, consistent with our mission of public-interest journalism.
Updated Article Now Available
The original article has been updated with corrected language, an editorial note, and an amended headline.
If you have questions or concerns about any aspect of our reporting, we welcome your feedback.
