Mayor Tom Westmoreland Launches Reelection Campaign After Historic Accomplishments in Eagle Mountain
EAGLE MOUNTAIN, UT — After steadily leading Eagle Mountain through some of its
most transformative years, Mayor Tom Westmoreland announced today that he will
seek reelection to continue building on the city’s unprecedented momentum.
Since his first mayoral election in 2018, he has overseen nearly $150 million in
investments to strengthen critical infrastructure, including roads, water, sewer, and
power—while preserving the open spaces that define Eagle Mountain’s character.
“It is the honor of a lifetime to serve our community in this capacity, and I’m so proud of
everything we’ve accomplished together,” Mayor Westmoreland said. “My hope is that
residents will continue trusting me to tackle challenges and make decisions that keep
our community moving forward.”
Mayor Westmoreland has helped Eagle Mountain build and maintain a strong local
economy despite a global pandemic and record national inflation. He played a key role
in bringing major employers like Facebook, Tyson, and Google to the area, and he also
launched the city’s first Chamber of Commerce, laying the groundwork for a
business-friendly environment that continues to welcome new retailers and restaurants.
“More than 900 businesses call our city home, which is a testament to the fact that our
community is evolving in ways that attract the services residents need,” Mayor
Westmoreland said. “Eagle Mountain is thriving because we focus on what matters:
supporting families, strengthening our economy, and planning for smart, sustainable
growth. We’re not just growing—we’re growing with purpose.”
Looking ahead, Mayor Westmoreland’s vision centers on expanding parks and open
space, improving transportation, maintaining low taxes, and investing in a culture-rich,
family-first community where residents can live, work, and play.
