New Organizer and Market Manager
During the March 15th 2022 City Council Meeting the City Council approved a modified agreement for the Market. In 2019 the City entered into an agreement with Tim and Becky Painter (Utah Farmers Market). They were the ones that operated the market from 2019-2021. Early in 2022 they notified the city that they were no longer able to operate the market. The city then put out a RFP and found someone else willing to take over the market.
Jennifer Carrington (Vintage Lily Farms) has agreed to manage and operate the farmers market. The City reserved the right to move the market if there were other events that would conflict with the market, but they would still provide a location for the market if that becomes the case. They also reserved the right to not allow vendors that sell any of the following: weapons, drugs or drug paraphernalia, alcohol, items depicting nudity or sexually explicit acts, adult products, fireworks, or animals.
Hope to see you there!
Jennifer Carrington made this comment to Cedar Valley Sentinel (formerly i84005) about the change in management and organizing the 2022 Farmers market in Eagle Mountain. “I am excited to take over managing the Farmers Market in Eagle Mountain! I am thankful for all Tim and Becky Painter have done to bring this market to our city and for helping people become more aware of all our local food producers and artisans. I hope to continue sharing this and expanding this in our area!. One of my biggest hopes is to bring more farmers and especially, back yard farmers to the market to help provide local food to our community. Especially in these crazy times of food shortages. I believe strongly in self reliance and I don’t think that just means personally, I think we have a responsibility to help take care of those around us to make us stronger as a whole!“
