The City has been working to finalize the sale of our gas and electric utilities to Questar Gas and Rocky Mountain Power. Our target date to complete the sale was February 24. At this time, it is unlikely that we will complete the sale by this date. The delay is simply a matter of lining up process and procedure timelines between all entities involved in this complicated transaction.
This delay will result in minimal impact to residents. We had planned for the March utility bill to be the final bill with gas and electricity charges from the City, but that may change now. The City will continue to provide great utility service until the transaction is completed. Once the transaction is complete, your consumption will be billed by the new utility companies.
Once we know when the transition will happen, we will let everyone know. Thanks for your patience with this process.
