Craig Whiting, a highly experienced and successful real estate broker & businessman, has filed candidacy for Eagle Mountain City council on a city first – not developer first – agenda. Craig Whiting is the founder and owner of Prime Real Estate Experts, a large brokerage serving both commercial and residential real estate sectors. Craig has a master’s degree in real estate development (U of U, #1 in his graduating class), with a certificate in urban planning and a bachelor’s degree in business management (BYU, cum laude). In 2023 Craig ranked number 15 out of 17,000+ ages statewide for buyer side representation. He has closed hundreds of millions of dollars of real estate, including hundreds of acres of land and numerous subdivisions for builders and developers. Never before in the history of Eagle Mountain City has a candidate filed for office with this level of real estate expertise.
Craig has unparalleled understanding of the vision developers have for Eagle Mountain City – seas of high-density development that maximize short term profit for the builder but create long term problems for the city – which DOES NOT align with Craig’s vision for a truly prosperous Eagle Mountain. Craig is running to protect the rural heritage we all enjoy in this city – mountain bike trails, ATV trails, horse trails, wildlife corridors, parks, open space, animal rights, & bucking the trend of tiny lot sizes – and Craig has unequaled negotiating experience to ensure developers meet the CITY’S interests, not just the developers’ interests.
Further, Craig has a record he can run on. Since 2024, Craig has served on the city’s planning commission, during which time Commissioner Whiting’s votes have aligned with this “city first – not developer first” platform. A notable example included speaking against an 800+ unit subdivision that would have converted commercial land to residential uses, with Craig citing the city’s critical need to preserve land for businesses, as well as not overpopulate the already crowded road infrastructure.
Craig teaches his agents the values of LOVE, SERVE, CONNECT, and TRANSFORM, which culture he intends to instill in city leadership, while bringing the business acumen of fiscal responsibility, branding, marketing, leadership, and operations, that will do for the city what he’s done for his businesses: growth, community, and prosperity.
Above all, Craig cites his wife (Stephanie) & 6 kids (all boys except for the 1st five) as his pride and joy. The Whiting family enjoys outdoor recreation and spending time with their horses, goats, and chickens. They also have a singing group (Torch Family Music) which has hundreds of thousands of subscribers across its social media platforms, and has toured multiple times in the Philippines.
Craig is running a self-funded campaign so as to remain disconnected from the influence of deep-pocket individuals and organizations. Craig asks that donations be given instead to the Eagle Mountain Nature & Wildlife Alliance. Although Craig has strong conservative values, he has opted against seeking endorsement from any political party, instead inviting voters to review his detailed policies and vision at electcraigwhiting.com.
