Parts of SR-73 were closed and traffic restricted in Eagle Mountain due to high levels of Spring Runoff that created a flooding situation. During the afternoon of April 11th, Eagle Mountain City Hall sent out the following notification, “Flooding in one of the washes in the West Canyon area has prompted Eagle Mountain City to close the access road (Belle Street) into the Arrival subdivision. This closure will remain in effect indefinitely to divert floodwaters currently flowing onto SR-73. Traffic is currently slowed as a result. Motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route through Tuesday, April 11. Residents are advised to stay away from the washes until further notice.”
Photos and video of the incident were provided by Steve Winter, the owner of Winter Development, a local basement finishing contractor that has been a local for 17 years.
The flooding has receded some, but another storm is supposed to hit the area tomorrow, the 13th. The storm is predicted to bring snow and possibly rain.
