The Eagle Mountain City Citizens page has reached a record 15,000 Members. You can find the group on FB here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/rancheshoa. The group was originally started for the Ranches HOA, one of the Home Owners Associations that can be found in the city of Eagle Mountain. The group was started over 11 years ago. As a side note, the Ranches HOA was found in error by the courts and shut down, Eagle Mountain Ranches HOA Loses Millions in Lawsuit.
As one of the admins for this group, I can tell you that it is a full-time job moderating and administrating the group. There have been times when people have been kicked from the group for not following rules. This has led to several copycat groups, but none of them have been able to come close to the membership of this original Eagle Mountain City Citizens group.
The group was originally started by Scott Morris, and was eventually taken over by Alison Morris. Alison explains this in a post to the group on May 25th, the official 15K day.
It all started when one guy decided we needed a place for the community to come together. Scott Morris started the group with just two people in 2010-2011. As his wife, he recruited me to “help” admin the group. Of course in the early days it didn’t require much moderating. Mostly it was a way for those in the HOA community to vent about the HOA overstepping their bounds, etc. One such post had a typo was someone trying to say “hoa car” but changed car to cat; hence the HOA cat was born – I believe Melissa Clark might have had something to do with that . From then on many members had fun posting HOA cat memes. As the group has grown I couldn’t have done it by myself; my co-admins/moderators are amazing and deserve a shout-out! Thank you all for contributing to the group! Please enjoy the HOA cat pics/memes we were able to pull from a much simpler (and smaller) time in the group. Be safe and have an amazing day!

I have included some of the cat pictures here for your enjoyment.
Melissa Clark has since gone on to serve on the City Council for Eagle Mountain as well as ran for the position of Eagle Mountain Mayor.
If you are a resident of Eagle Mountain City and have not yet joined the group, please do so. If you are interested in politics in the Cedar Valley (Eagle Mountain) area, make sure you also check out the Cedar Valley Politics – Eagle Mountain, Cedar Fort, Fairfield Facebook group. It has a modest 400 members but can always use more.
