Running for office in Eagle Mountain also comes with several responsibilities. One of those responsibilities is campaign finance reporting. And as part of that reporting candidates are required to file a finance statement with the City Clerk by specific dates.
What is a contribution?
Receiving of money or non-monetary contributions such as in-kind contributions and contributions of tangible items for political purpose.
Who can contribute to a campaign? “Any individual, corporation, PAC, or political party may contribute to your campaign. Utah law does not limit how much a contributor may contribute to your campaign.”
Can contributions be anonymous? “You cannot use a campaign contribution if it is from an anonymous source and greater than $50. If you receive an anonymous contribution greater than $50, you must gift the money to the state, county, city, or a non-profit501(c)(3) organization within 30 days of receiving the contribution.”
The Campaign Finance Statements are considered public records and therefore are available from the City Recorder. I did a GRAMA request to make sure that they were all put up on the city website, only the last three election cycles were then when I first checked. During the process I was informed that they do not have any records of this type prior to 2001. I will continue to try to get those records from other sources. I have taken those public records and have compiled the list below.
This table includes the name of the candidate the contribution was made to, the person/entity making the contribution, the amount and if the contribution was considered cash, in-kind, or a loan. The office that the candidate is running for is also included. The Notes field contains notes that I felt were important to include. If you have anything you would like to add, or any research you have done on the contributors that you would like added in the notes field, please let me know.
Contributions to Eagle Mountain Candidates Since 2001
NOTE: Cedar Valley Sentinel (formerly i84005) has not been able to find the data prior to 2001. The City Recorder has indicated that they were unable to find the records. “We do not have record of finance disclosures from the 1997 or 1999 elections.”
The Date column filters as a text field, so the best way to limit the search by a specific year is to search for that year. It then should show you the items with that year in the date column.
Contribution Totals - 2001 to Present
Mayor | $145,412.55 |
City Council | $188,313.66 |
Cash | $277,775.55 |
In-Kind | $48,841.90 |
Under $25.00 | $4,499.39 |
Below are the details that the above totals are taken from. If you find errors, etc in this table, please let me know. The data was hand entered from the PDF disclosures from the Eagle Mountain City Website. Those PDF disclosures have also been included at the bottom of this document.

Eagle Mountain Developers
Below are a few of the MAJOR contributors and developers in Eagle Mountain. Below I have listed the different companies that they are the agents for in Utah. I have included those outside of Eagle Mountain as well for reference. The data below was purchased from the Utah.gov business website, and as such is considered public domain. There is a small fee to do an agent search, so I am including the data here.
