Eagle Mountain has continued to grow during 2018. But it has seen a decrease in growth in some areas, but an increase in others. For example, there were 71 less residential building permits issued in 2018 than in 2017. There was also a decrease in accessory apartments and other buildings permits. But the number of residential permits is still the third highest year in Eagle Mountain. In 2017 there were 386 permits issued for other building permits and only 251 were issued in 2018, a 35 permit decrease. One increase was in basement permits they increased by 4 to 224 issued in 2018 over the 220 issued in 2017.
There was a significant increase in commercial and church permits in 2018. The number almost issued was close to triple the amount in 2017. In 2017 there were only 10 commercial/church permits issued, but in 2018 that number grew by 18 permits to a total of 28. Giving 2018 the distinction of having the highest commercial growth in Eagle Mountain. The number of inspections done by the building inspectors (and consultants) hit an all time high as well. The number of inspections increased by 1,760 in 2018, bringing the total to 11,054. That is the highest number since they started tracking that statistic 9 years ago.
