As the storm rolled in on March 5th, Eagle Mountain had high winds reported. The high winds caused some minor and major issues for residents in Eagle Mountain. Quail Run Farm reported winds up to 38 mph at 2:15 pm with an average high wind speed of 32 mph.
A section of Eagle Mountain Blvd that was closed due to the high winds. Eagle Mountain has several high voltage power lines that run through the city. At one point the road was closed due to fear of the power lines falling due to the high winds. The road was closed for about 2 hours as crews monitored the situation.
**Road Closure – Eagle Mountain Blvd** Eagle Mountain Boulevard is currently closed between Lake Mountain Road and Live Oak. This closure is due to a wind related potential hazard with power poles in danger of coming down. Power has been disconnected to the area and crews are on scene.
Crews could be seen working late into the night on Lake Mountain Road repairing lines and making sure the residents remained safe. They were also seen working Monday morning in the area as well.

Power lines were not the only problem the high winds caused. On the Eagle Mountain Citizens Facebook page, residents have been reporting a number of issues. Fences being blown down, patio furniture being blow through fences, trampolines landing on cars, flag poles being blown down, mailbox poles broken, garbage cans being blow around, shingles being removed from houses, basketball standards being blown over. Some residents reported the siding of their houses being blown off.
