Comcast, in partnership with Eagle Mountain Chamber and Frontier Middle School, is thrilled to invite you to the Digital Community Resource Fair on Sept. 22, 2023, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The event aims to bridge the digital divide and empower our community through enhanced digital literacy. We believe everyone should have equal opportunities to thrive in the digital age, and this fair will provide valuable resources to help achieve that goal.
“The Eagle Mountain Digital Community Resource Fair is perfectly aligned with the Alpine School District Foundation’s mission to enhance and enrich the educational experiences of students,” said Tyler Vigue, Executive Director, Alpine School District Foundation. “The access to digital resources being provided to our families and students empowers them with necessary tools to succeed in this increasingly digital world.”
The fair is not just about technology. It will feature booths from the Fire Department Business to Student Safety, Sheriff’s Department, Texas Instruments, Meta, Communities that Care, and Tabatha’s Way – all dedicated to improving our community and provide invaluable resources and guidance.
“We’ll even have food, prizes and other giveaways,” said Deneiva Knight, External Affairs Director, Comcast Mountain West Region.
“Bringing our community together and giving our local families a convenient way to learn about new digital services and other resources from several organizations is vital,” said Melissa Clark, President and CEO, Eagle Mountain Chamber of Commerce. “All of these partner organizations improve the quality of life for our residents and businesses.”
One primary focus of the fair is to share Comcast’s Internet Essentials and Affordable Connectivity Program for citizens.
“These initiatives are designed to make high-speed internet accessible and affordable for all residents. With Internet Essentials, you can enjoy reliable internet connectivity that opens up a world of possibilities,” Knight said. “With online classes, remote work opportunities, and staying connected with loved ones, having a stable internet connection has become more important than ever.”
Net Positive will provide onsite digital literacy training classes at the fair to equip residents of all ages with skills needed to navigate the digital landscape effectively.
“We’ve found that many individuals face hurdles when it comes to technology, such as concerns about privacy and security, or the complexity of digital tools,” she said. “That’s why the Comcast Foundation is funding $30,000 to partner with the Eagle Mountain Chamber of Commerce and the Eagle Mountain Library to launch a robust Digital Navigator’s program designed to help increase adoption and digital skills for the aging population.”
Seniors lacking internet access are limited in engaging with the world. Friday’s fair will bridge that gap, bringing seniors into the digital era and empowering them to stay connected with their loved ones, access valuable resources, and enhance their quality of life.
A dedicated community partner, Comcast has made significant investments in the Eagle Mountain community, expanding services to over 18,000 homes and businesses. With a commitment of more than $22 million to provide internet services in Eagle Mountain, the tech leader has brought its entire suite of Xfinity services to the fast-growing community, including Xfinity Internet, Xfinity Mobile, Xfinity X1 cable, Xfinity Home security, and Internet Essentials. These cutting-edge resources provide endless opportunities for entertainment, education, and personal growth.
Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to enhance your digital skills and connect with your community. Join us at Frontier Middle School on Friday, Sept. 22, 2023, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm for the Comcast Community Resource Fair for Digital Equity. Together, let’s build a digitally empowered future for all.
