“When I started my position at the Chamber, all I had experienced to that point was the occasional fancy Chamber luncheon. I didn’t know a ton about the inner workings of the Chamber world, but having grown up in a small business family, I know the life of a small business owner. So I started this adventure by asking local business owners what they wanted and needed. Business owners are BUSY and work really long hours, so we created Nighttime Networking and Flash Lunches so when our members come to an event, they find networking events that fit their schedules. We’re breaking the mold; we’re listening and making everything we do about our local businesses.
From my time on the City Council, I knew that the process of business licenses and building and approvals could be overwhelming to someone trying to grow their business, and because of that Business Boot Camp was born! Free workshops taught by local experts at a time of day that worked for real lives.
Our new location serves two purposes: Business Resource Center and Welcome Center.
Home-based businesses need a quiet place to work with technology and services, and they want something that won’t break the bank. That was the impetus for the Business Resource Center–professional, accessible co-working space. At the Chamber BRC you’ll find a conference room to close your next big deal, state of the art technology to give a killer presentation, and even a guest office you can rent for the day. As part of the BRC we also have a Business Incubator Program where businesses ready to level-up, can rent private office space and have resources, mentors, and technology readily available.
The Chamber Welcome Center has become a hub of community activity. Visitors and newcomers to Eagle Mountain will find recreation and tourism maps. On any given day you can find one of our local nonprofit organizations holding their board meeting or rehearsing for their next symphony. To date, it has become a place for American Legion Post 111, Eagle Mountain Arts Alliance, Eagle Mountain Nature and Wildlife Alliance, EM Serves, and the Eagle Mountain Symphony Orchestra. The Welcome Center has become the place for collaboration and resources.
If you are looking for a place to grow your business and challenge yourself, come see what the buzz is all about.”
