Question: What relevant experience or skills do you bring to the role of city council member/mayor?
Craig Whiting
Eagle Mountain City Council
Ideally, more citizens would attend city council meetings and voice their opinions. I’ve attended multiple meetings when I felt my voice provided a unique perspective the city council needed to hear. My personality is such that I enjoy hearing others’ opinions, and I’d welcome direct contact from citizens who have opinions on various subjects. Our city will be stronger if we share our ideas with one another.
Melissa Clark
Eagle Mountain City Council
My personal cell 801-357-9156 and my social media and email are always available to residents. Like many residents, before I served on City Council, I had really strong opinions and felt like I didn’t have a voice at City Hall. I will study out the issues, I will connect with residents and land owners, and ultimately, I will use principles, the law, and good stewardship to make the touch decisions.
Scott Ferre
Eagle Mountain City Council
The most important way to engage the community is to make sure those that get involved and voice their opinions know that what they say will be respected and heard. While I have strong beliefs and principles, I am always willing to listen. I also readily acknowledge that I do not have all the answers and and will always consider what others bring to the table to improve my own positions and decisions.

Hollie McKinney
Fairfield Mayor
I want open and transparent communication. I will Utilize methods such as sending out text messages, emails, and surveys to gather input and feedback from community members. I will Ensure that the questions asked in the survey are relevant and address concerns and priorities. I want the community members to feel comfortable reaching out to me and the council. Every person in town has my phone number and they know where I live. I want to encourage residents to engage in discussions at town meetings and feel comfortable reaching out to discuss their thoughts and ideas.

Eagle Mountain City Council

Eagle Mountain City Council
We need better communication between the city, the planning committee, and the citizens. The majority of people don’t have time to go to meetings and keep up with everything going on. We need more meetings that can be attended online, and polling opportunities through social media and email.
Rich Wood
Eagle Mountain City Council
I already have a record of this. But, I will say that we do a pretty lousy, and lazy job of seeking the input of our citizens. Our communication is very one dimensional and does not come close to reaching the majority of our citizenry. Because not everyone consumes social media, or consumes it the same way, and because the social media companies are constantly altering their algorithms, we need to use more ways than one to communicate to our citizens. We also utilize the bare minimum currently in letting the citizens be involved in what it is coming to our city. By the time they want to give input, it is far too late for anything to be done, because contracts have been signed, development rights secured, and permits issued.
Alina Pringle
Fairfield Council Seat A
Growth pressures and land desecration are the most pressing issues facing Fairfield. Expanding town services to include code enforcement authorities and office staff are needed to keep our town running smoothly and to protect the land uses into the future.
Michael Weber
Fairfield Council Seat A
The only reason I am running is because I am a member of this community and want to see it grow in a way we can all live with. I would only make decisions based on what our community wants.
