Not only is the lot for a one-time purchase of $550, but you also do not ever have to pay property tax on the lot. This is not a gimmick. You don’t have to send me your credit card information, fill out any form, or enter into any rental or timeshare agreement. All you have to do to own a lot in Eagle Mountain is go down to the City Recorders office and pay your $550 if you are a resident, or $1000 if you don’t already live in Eagle Mountain.
There is a catch, you will have to have passed on in order to actually live in the lot. These lots all have the same address 4648 N Eagle Mountain Boulevard. I am not talking about building lots, but I am talking about burial plots. The city of Eagle Mountain has space still available at the Pony Express Memorial Cemetery. “The Pony Express Memorial Cemetery was built in 2014 to accommodate the desire of families to bury their loved ones closer to home. The beautiful property is cared for by Eagle Mountain City and its planning is managed by the Cemetery Advisory Board. You are invited to call or email the City Recorder’s office with any questions.”
The Pony Express Memorial Cemetery currently consists of 1,537 spaces in total. There are currently 429 spaces that are sold and 128 of those are currently occupied. The cemetery is the home of the annual memorial day program. It also has a gazebo as well as several donated bronze statues.
