I was asked to mail a package last week. In Eagle Mountain the only place to really mail a package is at the Ridleys in The Ranches. So while I was doing some more running around for other Holiday related tasks I stopped by the little corner of Ridleys to mail a package. I had to wait in a short line.
As I was waiting I looked around. They already had two large USPS bins full of packages ready to be collected. There were packages in piled to the ceiling behind the employee. As I looked around I also noticed there were additional USPS bins outside of the postal area including two shopping carts full of packages. If anyone tells you that Eagle Mountain is not ready for a post office, they have not used the services at Ridleys to mail a package.
If you follow any of the Eagle Mountain related Facebook pages you will see posts of people asking where is the closest post office, as well as a discussion on how bad Eagle Mountain needs a post office. On the Eagle Mountain City Rumors page, they address this issue with this post.
Rumor: When is Eagle Mountain getting a post office?
Fact: The cities of Lehi, Saratoga Springs and Eagle Mountain are aware of the demand on the Lehi USPS facility and the desire of residents for a new post office facility. The cities and the USPS are in preliminary talks regarding the potential for a new Post Office facility in Eagle Mountain or Saratoga Springs, but at this time there are no official plans.
Eagle Mountain Rumor Stop
If you do a search on the usps.gov website for locations close to 84005, it lists three post offices. The one for Cedar Valley (located in Cedar Fort) to the west of Eagle Mountain, one in Lehi to the East and then finally the one in American Fork.
I have started a change.org petition to see if that will help the process along:
