Through the past year we learned to adapt to our circumstances and in some cases even found ways to be more efficient with remote meetings. However, nothing can replace the experience of working with others in person. I am grateful to be getting back to more normal activities, and social interaction. Mayor Westmoreland Eagle Mountain CityI asked the City Council if they wanted to comment on the change. Melissa Clark, who will be running against Mayor Westmoreland in the upcoming municipal election made the following statement.
“Many hours have been put into preparing us to return to in-person meetings. I am grateful for the staff that worked so hard to make our first meeting nearly flawless and for the staff that has been working in the trenches during the last 14 months; we could not be Eagle Mountain without you. I am delighted we can finally be back meeting at City Hall with the people we were elected to represent. We all serve better when we serve closer to the people. Oh, how I missed seeing your faces in the Council Chambers!” Councilmember Melissa ClarkI for one will be glad to see these meetings held in person. Following city government over the last year has been hard, and it will be nice to be able to see the interactions of board and elected officials in person again.
