Eagle Mountain Communications & Community Relations Director Accepts Position With Draper City
It was announced last night during the City Council Meeting that Linda Peterson, Communications & Community Relations Director for the City of Eagle Mountain will be leaving and taking a position with Draper City. Linda has been with Eagle Mountain City for almost 15 years. In her position, she was responsible for Communications with the residents as well as the Eagle’s View Newsletter.
After Mayor Westmoreland made the announcement time was taken by each of the City Council members to address Linda and thank her for her service and time spent on the City’s staff. Mayor Westmoreland even referred to Linda as “The Mayor’s Therapist”. The Eagle Mountain City website states this about the role of the position that Linda will leave vacant. “The Communications & Community Relations Director communicates to residents, businesses, and the media, timely information pertaining to the City. The Communications & Community Relations Director also manages the content of the website and social media, writes and distributes media releases, coordinates community relations, and supervises community events. The Draper City website lists the job description for the Communications Director as follows: “The Communications Director works under the direction of the City Manager and/or Assistant City Manager. The Communications Directorprepares, coordinates and facilitates the dissemination of information to the public through print, social media, broadcast media and other communication methods. This position works with the Mayor, city council members, and various boards and committees and assists with the promotion and marketing of Draper City. The Communications Director may direct the work of others as assigned. This position is an appointed position and is exempt from the protections described in Utah Code Ann. Section 10-3-1105(1)(a). ” [source]
