” The City Recorder’s office is currently closed to in-person visitors until further notice. Staff may be reached via email at recorder@emcity.org or (801) 789-6610. For cemetery services, please call (801) 789-6601 during the closure.”I reached out to the city to verify that it was a COVID-19 related case that caused the closure. I also asked about what other services were affected by the closure and if any elected officials had the virus. Linda Peterson, the Communications & Community Relations Director for Eagle Mountain city responded with this statement.
“Yes, the closure of the City Recorder’s Office is in relation to COVID-19. The City is taking appropriate measures as directed by Utah public health officials and is consulting with Utah County Health Department, as needed. The City does not release names or specific information related to cases within the organization. The recorder’s office is the only office closed to walk-in visitors at this time. The City has taken extensive precautions to keep employees and the public as safe as possible within our buildings and will continue to do so. “More information about COVID-19 and how the city is taking precausions to keep employees and the public safe can be found on the Eagle Mountain City website.
