Members of the Eagle Mountain Chamber of Commerce, Eagle Mountain Mayor Westmoreland, members of the City Council as well as the Chamber Board Members and supporters gathered to honor businesses that fostered the goals of the Chamber and built up the community during the 2023 calendar year.
Not only were the awards given to businesses in the area, but Meta (formerly Facebook) also made a surprise announcement. William Marks from Meta gave two Eagle Mountain non-profit organizations a $5000 grant as well as announced a $250,000 grant to the Chamber for their business and technology center initiatives and labs.

The presentation started with remarks from Preston Thygesen and Laura Jensen the Board Chair and Vice Chair of the chamber. “As we gather here tonight, let us celebrate not only the successes of our businesses but also the spirit of unity, collaboration, and growth that defines us as a Chamber. Together, we will continue to support, uplift, and empower one another as we strive for even greater achievements in the years to come.”
The awards were then presented by members of the Chamber Board, Mayor, and City Council Members.

Young Entrepreneur of the Year – Trieste Smith – Zero Hunger
“Trieste Smith has not only captured our hearts but has also left an indelible mark on our community.
Trieste is the founder of Zero Hunger, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending hunger for Eagle Mountain kids. Her passion and dedication to this cause are nothing short of inspiring. At the Eagle Mountain Chamber, we are proud to have her as our youngest member, and she exemplifies the spirit of entrepreneurship that we strive to foster.
But Trieste’s impact extends far beyond her role in Zero Hunger. As Student President, Cheerleader, National Honor Society member, yearbook editor, and volleyball player, she has embraced every opportunity to make a positive difference. Trieste is not just a Chamber Ambassador and ShopFest volunteer; she is a force of nature, using innovative approaches on social media to spread awareness about the crucial work of Zero Hunger.

Entrepreneur of the Year – R&R Tactical
“Rudy and Robyn Chavez, the dynamic duo behind R&R Tactical. Rudy and Robyn have exemplified the true essence of entrepreneurship through their dedication, vision, and commitment to excellence.
Their story is one of dedication, service, and resilience. Having served in the U.S. Army and as veterans in our community, Rudy and Robyn turned their post-military chapter into a successful venture. In 2018, they kicked off R&R Tactical in their basement, and the business quickly outgrew that space.
Facing the challenges of the pandemic head-on, they opened a brick-and-mortar shop in March 2020. Their commitment didn’t go unnoticed, earning them the Meta Chamber Scholarship in 2022 and solidifying their place in our business community.
Looking ahead, they’re set to open a new location later this year, hosting nine-plus businesses and creating nearly 200 jobs. Today, we recognize not just their success but the inspiration they bring. ” – William Marks (Meta)

Innovation in Technology – Preston Thygesen – Elevate Sports.
“He is the owner of Elevate Sports, and the new chair of the Eagle Mountain Chamber of Commerce. “As a locally owned and operated pharmacy, they have provided vital healthcare services to residents of Eagle Mountain and beyond. Their dedication to personalized care, community outreach, and patient advocacy sets them apart as a beacon of excellence in the healthcare industry.
Cedar Valley Pharmacy was founded by Chase Fowler, Richard Barton of Taylor Drug, and Sheldon Birch of Birch Family Pharmacy in July of 2019 with the goal to bring a family centered, full service pharmacy to Eagle Mountain. Cedar Valley Pharmacy offers competitively priced traditional prescriptions, compounded medications, and high quality supplements all with fast friendly service you won’t find elsewhere. Closing Remarks
Melissa Clark, the President of the Chamber, closed the Gala with some closing remarks. “Tonight marks a historic moment as we conclude the 1st ever Eagle Mountain Chamber of Commerce Awards Gala. I am immensely grateful for the unwavering support and dedication of my remarkable team, Emily and Rachael. Their shared vision, quick thinking, and boundless talents have made tonight’s event truly magical.” Clark continued, “Most importantly, a heartfelt thanks to the businesses of our community.
