You can purchase ad space on Cedar Valley Sentinel. There are a couple of locations where we allow Display Banner Ads. Details and the order form are below.
Overview
Cedar Valley Sentinel currently has two locations where you can buy Display Ad Space. Both locations are designed for 300 X 250 Standard medium rectangle banners. It has been found that this type of banner ad size is one of the top-performing sizes. Our goal is to help you have a high ROI for the advertising, as well as help us generate revenue so we can provide more quality elevating, inspiring, and informing material for our readers.
How it works
Both of the locations will work the same. They will be random display ads. In other words, each time the page loads an ad will be selected for each of the locations. This is done randomly so that if a visitor only hits one page on the site, then they will not always see the same ad, but all ads will get an equal opportunity to be displayed to every visitor, no matter how many pages they view.
Once you place your order, we will contact you to get the URL you wish to advertise as well as the creative you wish to add (300 X 250 image). We have the right to refuse based on site and image being used.
We do not create the image for the banner, you will need to supply us with the graphic. There are several great free websites that do that, or you can look for a local resource to help you with designing and creating the image.
Location One – Front Page
This location is shown at the top of the Front Page. This spot is only shown on the main website page (https://cedarvalleysentinel.com). It does not appear on any of the sub-pages. BUT, when the site is displayed on a mobile device, this is the first graphic element that is displayed to the user. According to Google Analytics, Cedar Valley Sentinel is viewed the majority of the time on a mobile device.
The front page is also one of the highest visited pages on the site. We do some advertising for the main page, but the majority of our advertising is spent on promoting recent articles.

The second location is a prominent spot on the sidebar throughout the site. This location is displays on all pages, including the main page. The difference is that the sidebar populates on mobile devices after all of the initial articles are listed. There are currently 10 articles displayed on the front page. So after the users scroll through the articles they will see the sidebar as well as this ad spot. This is one of the reasons why the sitewide location is more inexpensive than the front page location.

Order Notes
Prices are subject to change at any time. Our goal is to improve the site, and as these spaces become more popular and start filling up, we will be raising the prices. When you order your spot, your price will be fixed, and will remain fixed until you cancel the PayPal subscription.
No refunds. If you cancel your subscription, the ad will run until the end of the paid term.
(We use Paypal for our subscriptions to ad spaces because it helps reduce costs and gives you as the purchaser more options for payment.)
